Call for 75 scholarships a.a. 2022/2023

The University of Padua offers 50 scholarships to support students residing in Ukraine for the enrolment in single course units.

50 scholarships are offered to students living in Ukraine who intend to register in single course units for the academic year 2021/22.

Amount of the scholarship: € 3.100 (gross amount) and waiver from the single course unit registration fee

Who can apply: you can be considered for the selection procedure, under penalty of exclusion, if you meet the requirements below:

 - you are a Ukrainian citizen whose family unit reside outside Italy and you do not have any income in Italy for yourself or your family unit;

 - you have registered for at least a single course unit for the a.y. 2021/22, by paying the € 16,00 marca da bollo;

 - you present appropriate documentation certifying international protection status (refugee or subsidiary protection) or special protection status or other forms of temporary protection

How to apply: the single course unit registration must be presented from 11 April 2022 and by 27 May 2022 by following the procedure detailed at www.unipd.it/en/single-course-units. You must attach an appropriate self-declaration of the international protection status or of any other form of temporary protection you benefit from

 

Selection criteria: the scholarship is granted to candidates who meet the mentioned requirements starting from the date of publication of this call and until the exhaustion of available funds.

Selection results: on a first come first served basis following confirmation of the registration in one or more single-course unit.

The university offers up to 75 scholarships for international students who found themselves in a dangerous situation or have lost their access to university studies as a result of the outbreak of war in Ukraine and who thus wish to continue their study paths.

Amount of the scholarship: € 6.200 per a.y. (gross amount) + full fee waiver. The only amount to be paid by beneficiary students for each year consists of an admission fee, corresponding to the regional tax and marca da bollo.

Who can apply: you can be considered for the selection procedure, under penalty of exclusion, if you meet the requirements below:

 - you hold a Ukrainian citizenship or any third country citizenship or are a stateless person who benefitted from international protection or equivalent status in Ukraine prior 24 February 2022;

 - you resided in Ukraine or are a Ukraine citizen residing in Ukraine prior 24 February 2022 benefitting from temporary protection;

 - you hold a secondary school diploma (for enrolment in a bachelor’s degree or single-cycle master’s degree) or a bachelor’s degree (for enrolment in a master’s degree) obtained outside Italy and deemed eligible for admission into the Italian university system;

 - you apply to one or more degree programme(s) by the deadlines and according to the applicable procedures or you have already been admitted during the previous application rounds for open-access degree programmes or degree programmes with limited number of seats set by the University.

How to apply: if you meet these requirements, you will be automatically considered for the selection procedure. There is no separate application or additional specific documents to be submitted besides those required to apply for the selected degree programme

Selection criteria: scholarships are awarded based on prior academic excellence, linguistic competency, and personal motivation. In the event of a tie, preference will be given to female students and younger candidates.

Selection results: The results of the selection and the awarding of the scholarships will be made available on the University’s website from 10 June 2022

Acceptance: selected candidates will receive a specific communication from the Admissions and Welcome Unit of the Global Engagement Office illustrating the methods and timing for accepting the financial benefit and according to the modalities indicated in the call for applications.

Payments arrangements and maintenance requirements: the scholarship will be paid in two (2) instalments during the academic year upon achievement of the merit requirements indicated in the Call for applications. Further merit conditions required to maintain the scholarship also in the following academic years are detailed in the Call for applications.

Revocation: the University of Padua will revoke your scholarship if you fail to meet the maintenance requirements by the deadlines indicated in the Call for applications.
